May, 2019, Drop-in Session
• In these sessions, we'll explore spontaneous sounding individually, in playful dialogue with partners, and as a group. By listening and responding to ourselves and our partners with curiosity, singers enter into a flow of communication that becomes circular and deeply engaging.Through playful dialogues, musical phrases emerge. Singers will then shape these emerging song-lines into rhythmic, melodic patterns as we practice layering them to create harmonies.
Next we’ll come together as a group and practice simple ways of layering and varying these musical phrases to create evolving harmonies. Unique to each group, these voice-weavings are spontaneously composed and often musically complex and compelling.
In MAY we will combine all the skills developed this Spring to focus on creating complex harmonies, supported solos, chant-songs and entering 'deep flow' together.
